Day 08: A Moment I Felt Most Satisfied with my Life

There have been many times in my life when I have felt happy, accomplished, content; this includes my college graduation, completing my masters degree, and marrying a person I love. I don't know if I can say I've ever been truly satisfied just yet because I'm always seeking more, I'm always seeking for improvement and always working on some goals. However, I think that's just part of being a driven person, the work is never done.

If I had to choose a moment in life when I have felt the most satisfied I would truly have to say Now. For the past 12 months I have reached some peaks in my life where I have felt that I've come to really find and understand myself as a person and understand what it is that makes ME happy. My self confidence level is at an all time high, I have good career prospects, and even though some aspects could be better such as personal finances, most other things in life are in a fairly good place. Again, as a goal achieving kind of person I keep striving for making things better, but I can say that I am satisfied with how far things have come along so far.

I know I have a pretty good life, and I never try to deny that or downplay it. I am extremely grateful for the cards that have been dealt to me in life and I could never take those for granted. No matter how bad certain situations may seem, I have to remind myself that things could always be much worse, are if nothing else I am always surrounded by the love and support I need from my friends and family.

I guess the recent article that just came out about a study asking what is the happiest age, is pretty spot on for me. So far 33 has been a great year.

Here's a wildly simple, profoundly interesting question: At what age are you happiest? According to a recent survey, the answer is 33.

Friends Reunited, a U.K. website, found that 70 percent of respondents over the age of 40 said they did not find true happiness until they were 33 years old.

"[That age] is enough time to have shaken off childhood naivety and the wild scheming of teen-aged years without losing the energy and enthusiasm of youth," Donna Dawson, a psychologist, told Fox's Washington, D.C., affiliate. "Innocence has been lost, but our sense of reality is mixed with a strong sense of hope, a 'can do' spirit, and a healthy belief in our own talents and abilities."

As the site pointed out, Jesus Christ was crucified at age 33. Oh, and "33-year-old celebrities like Jennifer Love Hewitt, Maroon 5 front man Adam Levine and Katie Holmes seem to be enjoying a wealth of success right now."

Even non-celebrities agree.

"It's the sex, definitely," Christine Possemato, a 35-year-old from Springfield, N.J., told the New York Daily News. "You're hitting your stride. You're a lot more confident and you can attract younger guys."
