My current relationship status is "married". Unless you are talking about taxes, in which case I'm "married withholding at single rate". I guess single people get taxed more? Still don't quite get the whole tax thing, all I know is that this year we owe a crap ton of money to the IRS because apparently we make too much money combined to claim as just "married", we have to claim "married withholding at single rate" in order to have enough taxes take out during the year so that we are not indebted to the government *shrug* again, makes no sense to me.
Anyway, getting off track here. Relationship statuses are interesting. There are boxes to mark, single, married, divorced. But in real life, it's just not that simple. Ever status comes with it's own set of challenges. As they say, it always seems like the grass is greener on the other side, until you realize the only reason the other side might be green is because it's been painted to LOOK that way.
My relationship is and always will be a work in progress. As I think any relationship should be. If we just one day stopped taking care of ourselves, not caring what we shoveled into our mouth and completely neglected exercise, our bodies would go to shit right? Same thing with a relationship, it needs work, plain and simple. And it will never be perfect. I don't care how perfect any relationship looks, I can guarantee it's not, for the simple fact that we are all human.
I don't have a crystal ball, I can't determine or claim to know what the future of my current relationship will look like. Just because the waters are calm and things between me and my life partner seem to be more on the "happy" side at the moment, doesn't mean that's what it will look like 5 years from now, or 5 months from now, 5 weeks from now, or even 5 days from now. It's good to make plans in a relationship, plans for how you two would "like" the future to look like (YES I use a lot of quotation marks, ha!), but like the quote goes, while you are busy making plans, life shows you that it has it's own plans for you (or some might say God, or whatever).
